Diva #1’s Fabulous Bloody Caesar

We absolutely adore a good Bloody Caesar cocktail, especially when they’re served with a dozen oysters. The horseradish in this recipe is perfect in a Caesar and with oysters, well, we’re drooling just thinking about it! We already made a Kamouraska Bloody Bacon Caesar, which is a treat for special occasions, but Diva #1’s Fabulous Bloody Caesar is the Caesar that she makes for her friends at least once a week.  Mott’s Clamato is always on her grocery list!

  • Yield: 1
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Recipe type: Cocktail

  • 2 oz Vodka, we like Russian Standard
  • 4 oz Mott’s Clamato
  • 3 dashes Tabasco
  • 2 dashes Worcestershire sauce
  • Montreal steak spice
  • Celery salt
  • Half a lemon
  • 1 tsp horseradish
  • 1 slice crispy prosciutto
  • ½ Putter’s Pickle (it’s a superior pickle)

  1. Fry a slice of prosciutto, or toast it in a toaster oven at 350 F until crispy
  2. Mix 1:1 Montreal steak spice and celery salt in a dish
  3. Rim a glass with the halved lemon, and then into the mixed seasonings
  4. Fill half the glass with ice
  5. Add dashes of Tabasco and Worcestershire sauce
  6. Add the Vodka (be generous) and Clamato
  7. Squeeze some lemon juice in the glass, add the horseradish, and stir well
  8. Garnish with a crispy slice of prosciutto and Putter’s Pickle
  9. NOTE: If you have white liquor that you don’t like the taste of, replace the vodka in this Bloody Caesar and use it up. In our case we always use up tequila which we can’t stand, the Clamato and horseradish mask the flavour!
