It’s always nice to have options where you can grab a quick bite to eat and Xavier artisan is just such a spot in Old Montreal. Whether you want something sweet or something a bit more filling, Xavier Artisan has you covered, with artisanal coffee, ice cream and sandwiches, along with soups and salads. It’s part café, part quick breakfast and lunch spot!
We were invited for a media breakfast to try out some of their products. We started with coffee and a hibiscus lemonade. We enjoyed the coffee with our pastries which included muffins, croissants, chocolatines and cookies. They were flaky and a great pairing with both the coffee and even the lemonade that was less tart than expected because of the hibiscus.
We loved their yogurt with honey and granola. The yogurt was thick and tangy with a generous amount of honey to add just the right amount of sweetness. Topped with their homemade granola and some fresh berries, this is definitely one item we would pick up on the go!
We also tried their breakfast wraps, both the Vegetarian and the Classic. The vegetarian was with spinach, green onions and provolone cheese which was cheesy and tasty with a good amount of scrambled eggs. The Classic had sharp aged cheese and Applewood smoked bacon. Sadly, there was barely any bacon!
Xavier Artisan is located on Place d’Armes in Old Montreal, convenient for grabbing something on the go or to enjoy at one of their tables. We didn’t get to try their soups, sandwiches and when the weather is warmer, ice cream but we’ll swing by again for their in-house products. And good news, the prices are affordable even though they are situated in Old Montreal!
