Romeo’s Gin Fizz

We love supporting local products, so we’re fans of Romeo’s Gin which is a Montreal dry gin. Romeo’s Gin is made up of juniper, cucumber, lavender, almond, lemon, etc – you can imagine how well it goes with ginger lemon, and cucumber, simply enhancing the gin’s flavours in our Romeo’s Gin Fizz cocktail.

Romeo’s Gin Fizz

Ingredients:

  • PREP:
  • ¾ cup ginger, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 English cucumber
  • COCKTAIL:
  • 1 oz fresh cucumber juice
  • 1 oz Romeo’s gin
  • 1 oz ginger simple syrup
  • 1 oz fresh lemon juice
  • Cucumber slices, garnish
  • Ice

Directions:

  1. PREP: Bring ginger, sugar and water to a simmer in a small covered saucepan over medium-low heat
  2. Simmer uncovered for 20 minutes
  3. Strain syrup through a sieve, then cool the ginger simple syrup to room temperature
  4. In a blender, blend the cucumber, add 1 tbsp of water if more liquid is required to fully blend the cucumber
  5. Strain blended cucumber to obtain juice, discard what remains
  6. NOTE: This recipe provides enough ginger simple syrup and cucumber juice for more than one cocktail
  7. COCKTAIL: In a shaker with ice, combine cucumber juice, lemon juice, gin, and ginger simple syrup. Shake shake shake!
  8. Strain into a glass with ice
  9. Garnish with cucumber slices
