The Martinique Gourmande Culinary Festival is taking place in Montreal until September 25th and you don’t want to miss out on this unique event! Take the opportunity to sample the unique cuisine of the Caribbean island.
Various bars and restaurants in Montreal have added a cocktail or a dish to their regular menu which is inspired by the island of Martinique. Get ready for a mix of French, Indian, African and Caribbean flavours. Why not try “Le Siwoteur” from Chez Victoire, a refreshing rum-based cocktail or head to Le Valois for a fruit punch with local rum. Looking for exotic flavours to tickle the taste buds? Try the salmon tartare with cucumber, coconut milk, lime and chili with St. James rum at chez Ma Grosse Truie Chérie. We bet you never had a Martinique poutine with stewed cotopus served on sweet potato fries with cheese at L’Gros Luxe Sud-Ouest. And you can’t skip out on dessert, especially when Chez Chose is serving up some coconut donuts!
This year, the guest of honour for Martinique Gourmande Culinary Festival is award winning Chef Jean-Charles Brédas, direct from Martinique. It’s only right that we show him some true Montreal love and appreciation!
