Every year Grey Goose Canada throws the most fabulous event of the summer, and this year was no different. This was our third year in attendance and we assure you that each summer party is more marvelous than the last. The venue is never the same, nor is the food, but the delicious Grey Goose vodka cocktails are always strong and scrumptious.
This year’s party was held in Dorval, at the Forest and Stream Club, right on the water. This fabulous private club and venue transports you back in time with its charm and grace, as well as its décor. Grey Goose Canada knows how to throw a party, the Grey Goose cocktails were flowing, our favourite being their ever-so-strong Vodka Martini that we simply could not have enough of.
We were parked for most of the Sunset Soirée at the oyster station. We’re not even apologetic about it, nothing goes quite as well with oysters as vodka. With two types of oysters, and expert shuckers that never left the bed of ice empty for long, we were in heaven! Canapés were served while we enjoyed the sunset over the water, but the real treat was the picnic that followed.
Michelin star trained chef, Chef Justin Kent, was the engineer behind the fabulous picnic which included a packed picnic basket with treats from local Montreal restaurants and bakeries, and a Grey Goose red wine cocktail. Although we were not dressed to sit on a blanket on the grass, and we’re sure that a few picnic guests got a peak of our panties, after a few more cocktails we didn’t mind.
Our picnic basket was absolutely adorable, the crusty baguette was from Hof Kelsten, it came with a fresh salad coupled with locally made cheddar cheese and grilled almonds. The crudités du marché were from Tuck Shop, and the charcuterie and ricotta with fresh herbs were perfect with the wonderful bread. An estragon chicken salad added to the fun picnic experience because what else do you eat at a picnic?
The red wine Grey Goose Cocktail was made with Grey Goose vodka, Martini Rosso, Crème de Cassis, Grenadine, beet juice and mineral water. It was the perfect cocktail to enjoy with our picnic dinner but we couldn’t help but go back to those fabulous Vodka martinis. We like our cocktails the way we like our men, strong and unstable!
There was a coffee cocktail with Grey Goose for dessert, and the most heavenly mini pies from Rustique Pies. Our favourites were the apple and strawberry pies, we just couldn’t get enough of these sweet treats. After our fabulous little picnic the party got started, and things got rather rowdy and busy, which was fine with us because we love a good party!
Grey Goose Canada, we look forward to your fabulous party every year! Somehow you always manage to top the previous year and wow us with your venue, delicious bites and impressive Grey Goose cocktails. We cannot wait to see what Grey Goose Canada has in store for us next year!
