Carrot Citrus Juice

Lately we’ve been obsessed with juicing! We got a fabulous Waring Pro Juicer that so far (cross your fingers) has never jammed. Juicers are one of those things that you need to spend a bit more money on or you won’t maximize the amount of juice that you extract from the vegetables and fruits. We don’t like juicing berries, pineapple or peaches because they’re perfection when blended in a smoothie, and then nothing goes to waste. But we love making different juices and either drinking them as is, or using them as a base for smoothies. It’s a healthy alternative because any store bought juice that you’d use as a base in a smoothie is full of sugar. We can be healthy too, but more importantly, it tastes delicious!

Carrot Citrus Juice

Ingredients:

  • 4 carrots (1 cup juice)
  • 4 oranges (1 cup juice)
  • 2 lemons (½ cup juice)
  • 2” piece fresh ginger
  • 1 tsp turmeric

Directions:

  1. Chop all ingredients so they fit in the mouth of the juicer
  2. Juice ingredients and pour into a pitcher
  3. Add turmeric and stir
  4. Refrigerate for 30 minutes and consume within 48 hours
