Who are the Montreal Food Divas?
The Food Divas have been frequenting Montreal restaurants on Thursdays since November 2011. Montreal is known for its French cuisine (and we love our tartare), so we tend to go to French restaurants. In some (most) circles , we are known for causing trouble, therefore, our Thursday nights are reserved for plotting (bitching), drinking (getting tipsy) and eating great food (gluttonous indulgence) with great company (an unholy alliance). We welcome suggestions and love a good raw meal. Our rating system will be based on decor, atmosphere, service, the quality of the ingredients and the originality of the menu. The ratings are listed from best to worst:
- Always on Thursdays – We are already planning our next visit
- Splendid – Can’t wait to tell our friends
- As Expected – Met our expectations
- Meh! – We probably won’t be going back soon unless there are some changes
- Never on Thursdays – Enough said
Diva #1’s father is a chef/restauranteur, and she is an avid cook herself, having taken pastry classes at the Cordon Bleu in Ottawa. Diva #2 used to edit “Chuck’s Day Off” with Montreal’s own Chuck Hughes, and is currently a freelance editor at a local magazine. We just love food and want to share our Montreal dining experiences.
